AEROSPACE CONCEPT

1- PREFACE BY INVENTOR

For over a century, we globally adapted to the use of fossil fuel and fuselage aircrafts. We now notice numerous aeronautical changes and witness an impressive number of electrically propelled Vertical Lift light Aircrafts, in the ‘hangar’. Air transportation is being revolutionized in the way of electric Urban Air Mobility, with Private Air Vehicles, Local Air Taxis, City Air Bus Transits, and soon Regional and National Airline Carriers, even Intercontinental and Space Flights.

The aim in designing the ‘Automated Flying Disc Aircraft’ (AFDA) is one of ‘Universal Safety’ while faster speed is ubiquitous. The link between ‘Safety and automation’ now becomes inseparable. The future increase of new Drones in urban Air Mobility, will require even more accurate intelligent pilotage automation devices.  Also, the maximum size of fuselage aircrafts, could soon reach their undercarriage near safety limits. Still, the necessity to use cleaner energy technologies remains primary for protecting our planet’s atmosphere from all fossil fuel Vehicle engines, Ships and Aircrafts, excessive CO2 emissions.

The all electric ‘Automated Flying Disc Aircraft’ (AFDA) creates a future alternative to the existing fuselage Aircrafts. The ‘Automated Flying Disc Aircraft’ (AFDA) is particular in the way of Shape, Propulsion and Controls. The circular shape that suggests the use of lighter but resistant structural modular construction materials, offers greater and more stylish passenger cabin space and larger cargo hold, along with the practical amphibian buoyancy tank capacity.

They are ‘Universal’ Aircrafts, because of their capacity to Take-off, fly ‘Warp’ speed ahead or remain in a stationary position and land vertically or horizontally on any runway, appropriate terrain or amphibian on water.
The Doubling of Systems and Equipment answers the need for On-board Computer follow-up, during Normal Operation Procedures. Remote Display Supervision by a Regional ‘Fleet Pilot Captain’, will directly manage Incidents requiring appropriate Supervisory Action or Immediate Emergency Measure. The Automated Collision Avoidance System and Crash Avoidance gliding Procedures, will work to insure the future Aircraft its highest level of Safety.

The AFDAs are to be fully controlled by an onboard robotic ‘Computer Pilot Controller’ (CPC) using an advanced dedicated intelligent ‘Aerospace Safety Data 5’ Algorithm.  The ‘CPC’ is virtually represented in the cabin space, by holographic crew members. The Business Management, Construction and Maintenance, Customer Logistic and Services are performed by a Regional Fleet ‘Aviation Logistician’, also providing a secondary back-up to the Aircrafts ‘CPC’s in case of Immediate Supervisory need and Emergency Measure requirements.
These Universal ‘Automated Flying Disc Aircrafts’ (AFDAs) berth and board passengers, take-off  and land Vertically or take shelter within recent established Net Communities, where new Vertiports most certainly offer new ways to unclog actual Airports.

2- CREATIVE AUTOMATED FLYING DISC AIRCRAFTS

There has been so many attempts in the past to imagine what a flying saucer would be like. Following numerous drawing ideas and details, this long lasting perceived image was changed into a Universal ‘Automated Flying Disc Aircraft’ (AFDA).

Designing imaginary aircrafts, with only having a pure interest in aviation is quite a challenge. It took months to put together the concept of an imaginative basic future Algorithm, for structuring an automated flow chart of Automatic Pilotage, which I called ‘AEROSPACE SAFETY DATA 5’. This led to creating a wish list of various sizes of AFDAs that also showed a great number of real needs attached to them.

First, I designed a plan for a vehicle having similar dimensions to an ordinary car, like a Ford Explorer model. This was the AFDA 5 M (16’ 5’’ in diameter), a PRIVATE AIR VEHICLE with 4 occupants, for recreational traveling or as a 5 M AIR UTILITY VEHICLE which can land on the flight deck of a larger 40 m AFDA or more, while in stationary flight. This will take at least another decade before it becomes reality and when too many cars encumber the entire terrestrial road system.

Another incentive is to imagine an Automated LOCAL AIR TAXI. The AFDA 8 M (26’ 3’’ in diameter) carrying 8 passengers, which seems large enough to perform very well within a regulated range of acceptable atmospheric flying conditions. It would then be used for definite flights in between Vertipads, Vertiport resource communities or other approved locations, inside a designated route NET, where a shelter is available when necessary against adverse weather, for resupply or emergency repairs. We also looked at another leisure option, the automated SMALL 8 M RECREATIONAL AIR RV, the traveling van of the future. Aircrafts evolve particularly within an ever changing environment, most important being allocated flight Altitudes as per prevailing weather conditions. The transportation of passengers onboard a Local Air Taxi is certainly very different from having a simple Drone deliver a customer’s parcel on the front porch.

The next type of craft considered is a CITY BUS TRANSIT, the AFDA 16 M (52’ 6’’ in diameter) Flying daily regular Transits from local suburban Vertiports with 24 passengers. A similar size enviable LARGE MOBILE AIR RV or AIR MEDICAL AMBULANCE option, would be possible alternatives. The chosen appropriate size here, suggests the use of special Vertiport vertical access CONCENTRIC DOME SHELTERS during adverse weather conditions.

The REGIONAL AIRLINE CARRIER AFDA 30 M (98’ 5’’ in diameter). Imagining a 30 m (98’ 5’’) Regional Airline Carrier with 150 passengers, with scheduled flights from one city dedicated Vertiport to another, using on site protected ground Shelter facilities.

The NATIONAL AIRLINE CARRIER AFDA 40 M (131’ 3’’ in diameter) carrying 250 passengers on the upper deck and on schedule, between National and International Inter-City Regular Airports or in the VERTIPORT NETWORK. It is a multi-purpose aircraft, carrying Passengers or Cargo, for different commercial market needs. The standard aircraft has a large container hold capacity, but is also fitted with cylindrical selected liquid Cargo tanks. The unprecedented designated AFDA 40 M WATER TANKER is capable of carrying 50 tons of Water to resupply Communities, landing over specially adapted Public or Private Water Castle landing Pad, answering viable Water needs within the drought suffering areas of the country. The AFDA 40 M was also designed to be adaptable as a Forest FIRE WATER BOMBER Fighter with the addition of a special Center tank option, for landing on water and scooping 50 tons of water and thereafter, repetitively position herself in a stationary location, along with other units, where this water would be sprayed as huge rain showers to put out the blaze. My more convivial & preferred option would be an optional personal 40 M LARGE 2 DECK MOBILE FLYING HOUSE that can be located where convenient or at some dedicated Vertiport Community Centers. A main 40 M INTERSTATE MOBILE BUSINESS OFFICE, or an autonomous 40 M MOBILE POLICE OR MILITARY HEADQUARTER or Company Unit posted to any possible convenient location.

Endeavoring the AFDA 80 M (262’ 5’’) INTERCONTINENTAL & SPACE AIRCRAFT, a fashionable three deck design for 350 passengers with an upper landing deck that opens on given stationary flight to accept a smaller AFDA 8 M Air Taxi or AFDA 16 M Air Bus.

Nevertheless the chosen type of Craft, common particulars, shared among the general types of ‘Automated Flying Disc Aircrafts’ (AFDAs), are their Relative Proportional Dimensions and their Electric Propulsion.
